Jackson - 3 units - Rental Rehab project, 1991. 1105 E. Washington - moved in 1986 from Masonic lots- total rehab - UEA and private funding. ![]() 221 N. Vine - used CDBG funds, Rental Rehab, Action Weatherization, Community Foundation Community Corrections workers to maintain affordability. ![]() 1123 E. Adams - needed termite repairs and major work. Completed with ECRC and CDBG funding and the Episcopal loan funds. 1107 E. Adams - former storefront, historic building. Completed May, 1995, using HOME rental funds and private financing. Partnership with BSU architecture student. Two apartments up and apartment and architecture studio space in the lower floor. Sold August 1996. ![]() 1115-1117 E. Adams - two units salvaged from an historic farmhouse style property. Completed March 1, 1996. 925 E. Washington - a large, former 4 unit apartment building that has been rehabbed into a HOME CHODO. Construction completed in November, 1995 400 S. Beacon - Total rehab project. ![]() 516 E. Adams - HOME funds and Episcopal loan fund program financing. 502 E. Adams - Large, vacant, 5-unit apartment building. Acquisition privately and partnered with Muncie Properties to provide rehab. Muncie Properties now has ownership. ![]() 617 E. Adams - a five-unit rental. It was a "slum" when acquired and thousands of private dollars have been spent to upgrade the plumbing, wiring, exterior painting, roof, and rebuilding the porch. ![]() 900 E. Main - the ECNA original duplex - is an affordable rental property owned since 1980 by the neighborhood. Currently undergoing a HOME rental rehab project, upgrading one unit to handicap accessibility, and adding new boilers, electric, exterior work including a new roof and paint job, interior work, kitchens. ![]() 615 E. Washington - the former United Way/Family Services building was being used as a dorm style when it closed for a period. ECRC sold this Historic building (Grandpa Kimbrough's house and home to Margaret Johnson Goldwater). Purchasers have completed at least three other "restorations". 616 E. Main - the former Boy Scout office-serves as ECRC office space and offices for the neighborhood COP Shop. The back room was enlarged and serves as a meeting room for the ECNA, ECRC, and Crime Watch meetings. An Affordable apartment was created in the two rooms upstairs. ![]() 619 E. Adams - moved from the Masonic Temple Properties and sold on 5-year contract to low-mod buyer. Transferred to conventional mortgage in November 1992. 1203 and 1209 E. Main - transferred to Center Township Trustee to be used in conjunction with the new office building constructed on the north side of Main. ![]() 620 E. Charles - acquired with private funds and rehabbed with a construction loan from Mutual Federal. Had been scene of murder and drug activity. Rear lot was site of burned house that was a drug lab. 417 S. Monroe - Vacant structure that had been "home" to prostitutes and drug dealers. Rehabbed in 1996 with HOME funds. 613 E. Charles - vacant structure, also a drug house, completed in June of 1997. 805 E. Adams - private funded, New roof, electric upgrade, carpets. ![]() 523 E. Charles - 2 rental units, one a 4-bedroom unit and the other a one-bedroom unit, completed in December of 1998 with HOME funding. ![]() 321 N. Vine - Completed in June of 1998. HOME funds were matched with bank funds to finish this 3 bedroom single family home. ![]() 323 N. Vine - Purchased in February of 1998 with private funds. Floor furnace was replaced and several other items were upgraded. ![]() 237 N. Pershing - three bedroom single family home, completed June 1999. Complete rehab of all systems, interior, exterior, etc. with HOME funds and private dollars. Had been vacant and source of trouble for neighborhood. ![]() 232 N. Pershing - Former owner was not going to renew Section 8 lease. ECRC purchased the home, made the necessary repairs for the inspection, and then applied for HOME funds. Project was completed in June of 1999. All systems were upgraded. 235 N. Pershing - Completion date was May 2000. All systems and interior, exterior were completed with HOME funds and private financing. 3 bedroom, single-family units. ![]() 801 E. Jackson - Four-bedroom structure, all system, exterior and interior rehabbed. Had been vacant for over 5 years, a real eyesore on a corner lot on highway 32. HOME funds and private match. Completion date June 2000. ![]() 805 E. Jackson - large 6-bedroom home that was a bank repo. HOME funding and private dollars were used to complete all systems, interior and exterior work, add bathroom upstairs. lease-purchase program tenant that took possession in June 2000. ![]() 807 E. Jackson - a single family, 3 bedroom home that was purchased with probate funds in 1996. It was just recently rehabbed with HOME and matching funds. Work included HVAC, roof, wiring, and complete exterior redo. ![]() 800 E. Jackson - Single-family property purchased at auction in 1995. Roof, furnace, and interior rehab done with private dollars. New windows, and CA unit, and exterior work to be done with a HOME matching grant. ![]() 721-723 E. Charles - a large duplex with three bedroom units. Had been vacant for nearly 15 years. Complete rehab interior and exterior, all systems, with a HOME matching grant. Completed May 2000. 202 S. Monroe - this is a historically significant property, displaying architecture that is unique for this area. ECRC is attempting, with HOME funds and private dollars, to complete this duplex, each with two bedroom units. ![]() 230 N. Pershing - a vacant structure recently purchased by ECRC in the county tax sale. Potential HOME project for 2001. 522-526 N. Jefferson - two houses, vacant, in the McKinley neighborhood that ECRC will pursue as a rehab to own/lease purchase project that will be totally wheelchair accessible, with CDBG and HOME funds, as well as private dollars. 321 E. North - a single family, 3 bedroom cottage, vacant and in a block that has seen numerous arson activity. This also will be a rehab to ownership program property. This is in the Gilbert Historic Neighborhood. Rehab to own Project. 702 N. Walnut - a single family, 4 bedroom home, vacant for several years, totally rehabbed and lease-purchased. ![]() 406-408 S. Pershing - a formerly vacant, one-bedroom each duplex that is totally rehabbed. 221 E. Gilbert - vacant, single family home that will be rehabbed and lease-purchased by fall, 2001. 210 E. Gilbert - a brick warehouse building that will hold architectural salvage and other ECRC materials. Corner of North/Elm - vacant, vandalized church donated to ECRC in 1999. Also includes a deteriorated parsonage. Properties were transferred to the same architect that completed the Washateria mentioned above. 1235 E. Adams, 927 E. Adams, 1111 E. Adams, 715 E. Charles, & 814 E. Main - transferred to owners that will complete rehab with private funds. |
